Coronavirus Update

As a result of the current pandemic, we have implemented the following screening protocols to ensure the safety of all staff, patients and service users.

GP, Consultant and specialist clinic appointments:

Every patient will be triaged by telephone prior to any face-to-face appointments being made. If reception are at all unclear, they will refer to the GP on duty and a telephone consultation will be booked.

All telephone appointments will be charged at the usual consultation rate. If the GP decides you can come in for a face-to-face appointment, no additional charge will be incurred.

Day of appointment

To minimise the number of people in CMC at any one time, we will ask patient’s to not arrive too far in advance of their appointment time.

On arrival:

  • Patient’s will be met at the door and asked for your name and who your appointment is with.
  • We will only allow one person in per appointment – unless a chaperone/carer is required i.e. for a child or vulnerable patient.
  • On entering the building, we request that you wear a mask (one can be provided if you do not have). Your temperature will be taken and you will be asked to fully sanitise your hands - then you will then be escorted to the room you are to be seen in.

If:

  • On arrival your temperature exceeds 37.4°C you will be asked to remain outside and after ten minutes we will re-take it. If it remains at the same temperature, you will be asked to reschedule.

Cleaning:

Cleaning protocols are strictly adhered to within the practice throughout the day in our bid to minimise the risk of any cross infection to staff, patients, and any other service users.

  • Each room is cleaned in between patient use to minimise the risk of cross infection.
  • Toilet areas are cleaned by a staff member after each use to include toilet seat, door handles, toilet rolls, hand sanitisers, hand towel dispensers.
  • All waiting areas are cleaned regularly throughout the day
  • Any other areas which may be touched are regularly sanitised
